Maintenance Skills and Knowledge
Skills and knowledge are the most significant competence factors for European maintenance professionals. The European price tag on working hour is higher than in main competitor countries. Professional maintenance is a key for ensuring the competitiveness of European industrial companies. High level maintenance operation also supports companies when meeting the requirements of sustainable development and environmental impact.
High maintenance quality is achieved by people with excellent skills and superior knowledge. Well planned and organized education system is the cornerstone of all learning. A validation procedure is necessary to get feedback for further development.
EFNMS is sharing maintenance knowledge, which helps training institutes to build up learning concepts. EFNMS Certification Committee has created a certification process to guarantee the competitiveness of maintenance personnel.
EFNMS is about to launch a new updated version of its certification process. Six EFNMS member countries have ran a three-year project with a budget of 380 000 €, where a new certification concept has been constructed. The new model will be a totally digitized process: computerized exam using new questions database and automated correction. Rating is also included into the new model. Certification Committee is intending to hold the first new type of examination next year.
